CLC Update

December 2025

Note from the Coordinator

December greetings! Another semester is almost over, but now the busy Christmas season begins. Today in chapel, our chaplain challenged us to intentionally take Sabbath every week. That can sometimes be incredibly difficult. During this season when we celebrate Christ’s birth, may we also take time for Sabbath rest for our bodies and souls. (Matt. 11:28)

The CLC team continues to have conversations with potential vendor partners to expand existing member benefits. Some exciting opportunities may be on the horizon with Accordance Bible Software, IVP, Loeb Classical Library, and OCLC’s Choreo Insights. Stay tuned for further details!

Individual ACL Membership Renewal Season

Just a reminder that CLC Institutional Memberships require at least one full ACL Individual Member at the institution. Individual memberships expire December 31, 2025, and the renewal season begins now.

  • Returning individual members: Please renew your membership through the MY ACCOUNT section of the ACL website.

  • New individual members: Visit the ACL membership wepage to review all of the ALC membership details, then click on the “Join ACL” button. Be sure to select the first-time member rate of $40.

If your institution has had any staff transitions and your previous full member has moved on, now is an ideal time to update this so your CLC participation continues without interruption.

If you have questions about your membership status or eligibility, please contact Linda Tse, our Membership Specialist. She is happy to assist and provide information on your institution’s current standing.

Check out the updated offer from Business Expert Press!  CLC members receive a 50% discount off the list price of BEP’s perpetual access collections from 2010-2026.  Also available is a special consortium price on a subscription/EBP access model to over 1000 titles from 2010-present. Details and pricing are available on the website. For more information about this offer, contact our rep, Katie Fuller.

Our annual Fall Ebsco ebook offer will be closing soon (Dec. 15).  Don’t miss this chance to save up to 30% on collections or a la carte orders!  Visit the website for title lists and all the details.  Send your orders or ebooks questions to Robin Corder.  We hope many of you have or will benefit from this year’s opportunity.

ACL’s Reciprocal Borrowing Program (RBP) is a voluntary program that ACL institutions may choose to join to extend in-person borrowing privileges to authorized patrons from other ACL institutions. This can be especially helpful for those who may not live near their home institution. A few months ago, we launched the expanded RBP that includes more flexible participation options.  82 ACL libraries from around the globe are now participating as an expanded lender, standard member, or borrower-only library. Visit the website for an explanation of the various participation levels and an interactive map showing participants at all levels. Thank you to those who are sharing their resources through this initiative!

November 2025

Note from the Coordinator

Happy November!

Last month our friends in Canada celebrated a day of Thanksgiving. This month those of us in the United States will continue this celebration, setting aside a specific day to be reminded of God’s goodness, faithfulness, and provision. This month I am thankful for all of you, our CLC members! Let us all join in thanksgiving for our vendor partners, who offer great cost-saving benefits to our institutions.

Individual ACL Membership Renewal Season

  • Returning individual members: Please renew your membership through the MY ACCOUNT section of the ACL website.

  • New individual members: Visit the ACL membership wepage to review all of the ALC membership details, then click on the “Join ACL” button. Be sure to select the first-time member rate of $40.

Join with other CLC members to continue to build a shared academic digital collection from Overdrive. The more libraries that join, the bigger and better the collection for all!

The discounted annual participation fee is based on FTE. One-quarter of the annual fee is allocated for configuration/hosting, with three-quarters available to purchase content shared by all participants.

Visit the website for more details on Overdrive Academic, and to see a sample consortia contract with pricing.  Questions?  Reach out to [email protected]

OverDrive can facilitate the transfer of digital titles from other vendors to Libby.  If you are concerned about losing access to titles as Baker & Taylor ceases operations, and are interested in a possible solution with Overdrive, email [email protected] and we can connect you with our account rep.

The CLC Fall EBSCO eBook offer is now open and will run through December 15!

Stretch your budget dollars! There is still plenty of time to take advantage of the 30% savings during our annual fall EBSCO eBbook offer. Peruse the title lists on the website or explore consortia-eligible titles on ECM. Robin Corder, our Ebsco rep, recently presented a short webinar showing how to use EBSCO’s ECM to find and select titles, and how to create a list to order discounted titles. If you would like to view this information, please contact [email protected] and we will provide you with a link to the recording.

And right around the corner, in September, come several opportunities to save through your CLC membership, as our annual TREN, Galaxie, and EBSCO eBook offers open. Take note of the potential discount increase for TREN subscribers!

We’re also celebrating the impact of the CLC-sponsored ACL Research Awards, which recognized eight outstanding student researchers at seven member institutions this past spring. This benefit not only honors academic excellence, but also helps increase awareness of ACL on campus and provides a meaningful way for your library to be represented at academic award ceremonies. Read more about this year’s award recipients, and consider participating next spring to highlight the great work happening at your institution!

Finally, if your institution participates in or is considering participation in the ACL Reciprocal Borrowing Program, we want to make you aware of some updates to the program that include some expanded membership options. April 2025

Greetings, friends!

As we continue through the Lenten season, we prepare our hearts to remember Christ’s sacrifice and celebrate His resurrection. May this be a meaningful time of reflection and renewal for you.

This month brings exciting updates and exclusive savings for CLC members! The spring reopening of the fall EBSCO eBook offer is now available, but only until May 15—don’t miss out! Additionally, throughout April, EBSCO is offering IVP titles at an 80% discount off the regular price, and the CLC 30% discount applies on top of that. These limited-time offers provide a great opportunity to expand your library’s collection at a significant savings.

Also, please take a moment to review the details regarding CLC membership renewals below.

Finally, save the date! The CLC membership meeting will be held at ACL’s Annual Conference in Nampa, Idaho, on Tuesday, June 3, at 4:00 PM (local time). We hope to see you there!

Beth Purtee
CLC Team Coordinator

Current CLC Membership Period: July 1, 2024-June 30, 2025
CLC membership renewal for the 2025/2026 membership period will begin in May.

As we approach the CLC renewal season, we want to inform you of a recently approved policy and pricing structure by the ACL Board, which will take effect with the 2025/2026 CLC membership period. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please contact us at [email protected].

CLC Membership Policy

Each institution that wishes to become a member of CLC must purchase its own membership.

An institution may share a single CLC membership in the case of an institutional parent/child relationship. This could include main branch or satellite campuses who are under a single administration or institutions who share budgets and resources.   In all instances of institutions in parent/child relationships wishing to share a CLC membership, the following will apply:

  • The parent institution will initiate the request for membership and be listed as the CLC member
  • The parent institution will be responsible for contracts and decisions for the unit and initiate all requests for purchasing CLC consortia resources (databases, e-resources, etc.)

Only one institution name can be associated with one CLC membership.

Updated CLC Membership Fees

The 2025/2026 membership fee structure will take effect with the CLC membership renewal next month.

2025/2026 Renewal Process

The new CLC membership period will begin on July 1, 2025, with renewals opening in May. Here’s what you need to know to ensure a smooth renewal process:

  1. ACL Individual Membership Requirement
Each CLC library must have at least one current full ACL member to maintain eligibility. If you are unsure of your library’s status, please contact the ACL Home Office for assistance.

  2. No Grace Period
Please be aware there is no grace period for CLC memberships. To avoid disruption, your renewal and payment must be completed by July 1.

  3. New Renewal Process Coming Soon
We are introducing a new renewal process this year. Additional details and instructions will be shared next month.

ACL Research Award – Nomination Deadline April 3

The ACL Research Award is a special, once-a-year benefit exclusively for CLC member institutions. Since 2007, this award has allowed libraries to honor exceptional student researchers, elevate the library’s role at your school’s academic awards ceremony, and increase awareness of ACL within your institution.

Award recipients are recognized with an official ACL certificate and featured on the ACL website. Be sure to take full advantage of this benefit! Submit your nominations by April 3.

ACL Conference – CLC Registration Discount

Registration for the 2025 ACL Annual Conference is open! Individual ACL members save $90, and as a CLC member, your library can send one non-ACL staff member at the member rate—a $90 discount.

To redeem this offer, email [email protected] for your special discount code and registration instructions. Registration closes at the end of this month on April 30—don’t miss out on this opportunity to save and join us in Idaho for ACL’s annual cornerstone event!

Our Fall Offer Has Reopened! Save 10% on Zondervan titles or 30% on curated 2023 and 2024 eBook collections or a la carte titles!  This special offer runs through May 15, so be sure to act quickly. During the month of April only, IVP titles are discounted at 80% off the regular price. Apply the 30% CLC discount to make these titles even more affordable. Please note that the discounted prices will not show on ECM but will be reflected in any quote provided by Robin.

All the details, including available title lists, are posted on our website. Don’t miss out—this offer is available for a limited time only!

Thinking about joining the CLC Overdrive group but want to know more about how an Overdrive consortium works? Overdrive will host their Consortium Connect ’25 webinar on April 17 at 1 pm Eastern. Join Overdrive for an in-depth look at the benefits libraries can receive by sharing an academic collection. The 1-hour webinar will cover an introduction to Overdrive’s products and services, consortium testimonials and success stories, a look at the consortium structure and overview, and a time for Q&A. While this webinar will not cover contract or pricing information specific to any one group, it should be beneficial for prospective libraries with questions about how an Overdrive consortium works.

In February, Perlego provided two webinars for our members. These 30-minute webinars allowed attendees to

  • Find out more about Perlego and how they work with Christian learning institutions in the US.
  • Get an introduction to Perlego’s user-friendly platform with a demo.
  • Hear a case study from a CLC member about the impact Perlego has had on their campus.
  • Take part in a Q&A session with our reps, Ryan Borgesius and Almu Garcia.

If you could not attend, but are interested in learning more about Perlego and the opportunity to save with CLC discounted prices, please reach out to Ryan or Almu.  They will be happy to meet with you individually to provide more information or answer any questions.

Another chance to save on eBooks is coming soon. Our Fall EBSCO eBook offer will reopen in April! Stay tuned—updated details will be posted on the website later this month.
