As a Psychology major at Ohio Christian University, she has explored complex and sensitive topics with care and integrity, including mental health stigma, anxiety and church attendance, and inclusion for children with disabilities in faith settings.

Alyna’s faith is evident in both her academic and personal life. A dedicated student-athlete, teaching assistant, and performer, she balances many roles with grace and excellence. In addition to her academic strength, Jessica has made a profound impact on campus operations. Originally hired part-time in Financial Aid, she quickly rose to Director due to her innovative improvements—some of which led to restructuring the Doctor of Ministry program. Her leadership extends beyond her role, initiating campus beautification efforts, signage updates, and student life enhancements that have significantly boosted morale. Jessica’s gracious, thoughtful spirit, and deep faith are evident in all she does.

Trevecca Nazarene University – Nashville, TN – Daira Santos

Daira is an exemplary student and psychology research assistant, nominated for her outstanding contributions to undergraduate research and student support. This year, she is presenting two original research studies at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research in Pittsburgh: Bridging Faith and Social Connections (poster presentation) and Hands on Happiness: Social Touch, Happiness, and Loneliness as Predictors of Well-being (oral presentation). The latter study was also presented at the TNU Undergraduate Research Symposium in April 2024.

As one of only two Honors students in psychology, Daira is currently preparing to present her Honors research. In her role as a research assistant, she faithfully guides fellow students through the challenges of the research process with patience and kindness. Additionally, she serves as a competent and compassionate psychology tutor, including statistics tutoring, where her consistent care embodies true Christian love. Her dedication to supporting students academically and spiritually has made a remarkable impact over several years.
